Your customer scans the barcode with a compatible banking app, checks the details and confirms the payment in their bank’s app.

From placing an order to preparing a bank transfer
WSB HUB3 extends WooCommerce’s existing Direct bank transfer (BACS) payment method. Your customer still selects bank transfer at checkout. After the order is placed, the plugin presents the payment details in a format that is easier to transfer to a banking app.
1. Your customer places an order
They select direct bank transfer at checkout. If you have configured multiple bank accounts, they can choose which IBAN to pay into.
2. They receive the payment details
The barcode and payment details are available on the thank-you page, in the order details and in the order email.
3. They scan and confirm
Their banking app reads the details from the barcode. Your customer reviews them and confirms the payment themselves.
There are fewer details to type in, and including the order number in the payment reference can help you match incoming payments to orders. Displaying a barcode does not confirm payment: you still check that the funds have arrived using your usual process.
Choose how to display barcodes, payment slips and payment details
Some customers find a barcode most convenient, while others prefer to see a complete payment slip. WSB HUB3 lets you display the details as text/HTML or as a pre-filled HUB-3A payment slip. Alongside the code, your customer can review the information needed to make the transfer.
The payment slip and barcode can also be included in the order email, so your customer can find them even after closing your store in their browser. In the current version, images can be embedded directly in the email. Shortcodes are available for displaying the payment slip and barcode on custom thank-you pages.
You can customise the appearance by choosing the barcode colour, width and image format: PNG, JPG or GIF. If you also sell outside Croatia, you can restrict the display to customers in Croatia.
Practical settings for day-to-day store management
A payment reference linked to the order
You can build the payment reference from the order number, the date or a combination of both, with a prefix or suffix. A preview in the settings shows what it will look like for your latest order. The plugin also supports order numbers generated by compatible order numbering plugins.
The available payment reference models are HR00, HR01 and HR99. For HR01, the check digit is added automatically. IBAN and field length checks help during setup, while any barcode generation issues are recorded in the order notes and WooCommerce logs.
Multiple IBANs and modern WooCommerce checkout support
Have multiple bank accounts in your BACS settings? Your customer can choose an account at checkout, and the barcode and payment slip will use the selected IBAN. The current version supports classic checkout, WooCommerce Checkout Blocks and High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).
Getting started with WSB HUB3
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New, search for WSB HUB3, then install and activate it.
- Enable the Direct bank transfer payment method in WooCommerce and enter your bank account details.
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → HUB3 and configure the recipient details, payment reference model, reference number and display options.
- Place a test order using bank transfer. Check the amount, IBAN and payment reference, as well as how they appear on the thank-you page and in the email.
Requirements: WordPress 5.0 or later, WooCommerce 7.1 or later, PHP 7.4 or later, and the GD library on your server. WooCommerce must be active, direct bank transfer enabled and EUR set as the default currency. The external barcode generation service must be accessible for barcodes to be generated.

When should you choose WSB PayByCode?
WSB HUB3 is a good starting point if you want a free way to add barcodes and payment slips for bank transfers in Croatia. If you want to generate codes on your own server, offer EPC QR codes for SEPA payments or automate payment reminders, take a look at the premium plugin WSB PayByCode.

WSB HUB3 generates barcodes using the bigfish.software API, which receives the data needed to create the code. PayByCode generates codes locally. This is a useful difference if you want to avoid relying on an external code generation service.
Frequently asked questions
Is WSB HUB3 free?
Yes. The plugin is available for free in the official WordPress.org plugin directory. WSB PayByCode is a separate premium plugin with additional features.
Is a HUB3 barcode the same as a QR code?
No. WSB HUB3 generates HUB3 2D barcodes for Croatian bank transfers. If you also need the EPC QR format for SEPA credit transfers, it is available in WSB PayByCode. Whether a code can be scanned depends on the formats supported by your customer’s banking app.
Does the plugin confirm that an order has been paid?
No. The plugin prepares and displays the payment details. Your customer confirms the transfer with their bank, and you check that the payment has arrived before marking the order as paid.
Why is the barcode or payment slip missing from the email?
Check that image embedding is enabled in the HUB3 email settings. If your email plugin uses an API that does not support embedded images, you can turn this option off. If the barcode was not generated at all, check the order notes and the WooCommerce logs with the source wsb-hub3.
